Who are you?
EquipmentReports.org is a Police Technical
LLC property. Police Technical LLC is a team of talented individuals focused
on providing technical training and development services to public safety agencies
and related industries. Thomas
M. Manson is the owner of Police Technical LLC.
Why are you doing this?
We designed this website to provide a missing service to the law enforcement
community, namely to provide individuals and agencies with the ability to research
equipment before they make purchasing decisions. To read more go to the About
Us section.
What happens to the information I put into an Equipment Report?
The information you provide on new report is available to any users to the site,
i.e. EVERYONE. If you fill out a report on a product you have used in the course
of your duties a few days the visitors to EquipmentReports.org will have access
to it; with the exception of your personal information.
What happens to my personal information?
Any personal information provided to EquipmentReports.org is maintained according
to our privacy policy. We gather only enough information
to verify a person actually attended the course they are critiquing; Name, Agency
and Email. We will not sell you out and we will not give out your name.
What is the process, or life cycle, for an equipment report?
When a report is filled out it goes to a "holding tank" for review
both technically and by a human. If no obvious "red flags" appear in
the review process, we will approve the report and post it to the site. The report
will remain available indefinitely. Red flagged reports will be verified with
the author and posted if deemed accurate; reports deemed inaccurate will be deleted.
Red Flag examples:
A product recieves a highly critical review
A report is missing critical author information
How do I know an equipment report is accurate?
Accuracy n: the quality of nearness to the truth
or the true value.
The reports on this site are as accurate as the last report filled
out by someone on your department. If you don't know what that means
or how to interpret it then this site is probably not for you.
This website is for law enforcement. The personnel filling out these
reports are active law enforcement, and as such, are required to tell
the truth. We have provided an opportunity for personnel across the
country to assist one another and we believe they will accurately do
so.
How is this site "free"?
Nothing is free.
The site is supported by advertising. Our monthly newsletter to registered
users will also contain advertisements. Learn more about advertising on this
site here.
I see a report that is inaccurate. What can I do? (I use that product)
Fill out a report on the same product. Your opinion matters and should be included.
If someone is searching for information on that subject or company your report
will have the same chance being viewed.
If you feel a report is a blatantly false call Police Technical LLC
at 812-232-4200.
I see a report that is inaccurate.
What can I do? (My company is the Manufacturer)
Encourage your customers to fill out reports on your products. A trend based
on the volume of positive evaluations over time will outweigh any single report.

Do you offer any other evaluation service?
Yes, we do. Police Technical LLC offers a "branded" version of EquipmentReports.org
for your company or association. It will contain all of the same general fields
as EquipmentReports.org but will use your logos or banners.
